Nearly 6 million votes were cast worldwide to determine the winning cities. Montreal
received the most votes and replaced the most expensive property, Boardwalk. Riga,
Latvia came in second and takes the spot formerly held by Park Place. Voters were also
instructed to write in cities that weren't included on the list that they'd like to see
included. The cities with the most write-in votes were Taipei, China, and Gdynia, Poland.
These cities took the place of the least expensive properties on the new Monopoly Here
and Now World Edition game board.
Monopoly Here and Now World Edition also includes updated Community Chest and
Chance cards to reflect different events from cities around the world. For example,
people might visit Spain for the Running of the Bulls or New York City for New Year's Eye.
As a result of this update, Monopoly Here and Now World Edition is now a great way for
children to learn about cities around the world that they might not know about
otherwise. It's a great cultural and geography lesson disguised as a board game. That's
